Yes, I cheated and made this one. It’s one thing to start your journey by getting active at the gym or doing home based workouts. But being outside adds an additional benefit more for you. The fresh air & nature, in general, is excellent for your mental health.
Start with short walks in the evening or early morning, or walking on your lunch break. Take the stairs! Park further away from the door at the store.
Set a goal, and stick to it! There are so many ways you can incorporate activity in daily tasks.

Drink More Water
Pretty obvious, right?
Drinking water is crucial to your lifestyle change. You should drink 1/2 an oz for every pound of body weight a day.
- It helps keep you hydrated
- drinking water with a meal will keep you fuller, longer.
- It’s a natural way to flush toxins from your body
- Helps prevent cramps, and muscle sprains.
I mean, the list is endless! Start switching out sugary drinks (like soda and juice) for water at one meal. Then, slowly increase it to all meals throughout the week.
Don’t Drink Your Calories
Hey, don’t get me wrong, I love a good Margarita. And lately, wine. There is nothing wrong with having an adult beverage now and again!
But, keep it in moderation. The average margarita has 400 calories.
That’s a lot!
Drink low-calorie adult drinks, like wine and some light beers, but do it in moderation! You don’t want to work hard to lose weight and change your lifestyle, only to drink all your calories on a Friday or Saturday night!
Changes will happen. You’ll see quite a few in the very beginning, but you’ll FEEL them first. Some at a point, physical changes may slow down or stop.
Don’t get discouraged.
Stay positive. You are taking steps to an overall healthy life, not a quick fix. Things may be slow. You may have set back. But you know what?
It’s okay to fail or “fall off” the wagon sometimes. It happens. The important thing is that again, you remain positive, and keep going. A positive mindset will change your WHOLE experience.
