Have you wanted to make a lifestyle change, but not sure where to start? You’ve come to the right place. I’m glad you’re here to start on the journey to a new, healthier you!
A full lifestyle transition should be at your own pace. If you take on too much at one time, there’s the potential to overwhelm yourself.
That’s the last thing you want!
There will be A LOT of changes, but below, here are 5 Tips for a Healthy Life you can start TODAY.

Get Outside & Be Active
Yes, I cheated and made this one. It’s one thing to start your journey by getting active at the gym or doing home based workouts. But being outside adds an additional benefit more for you. The fresh air & nature, in general, is excellent for your mental health.
Start with short walks in the evening or early morning, or walking on your lunch break. Take the stairs! Park further away from the door at the store.
Set a goal, and stick to it! There are so many ways you can incorporate activity in daily tasks.

Take Your Vitamins
While these taste DISGUSTING, vitamins are essential for your overall well being. Don’t know where to start?
That’s okay!
Head over to Care/of and take the quiz! You’ll get personalized recommendations on which vitamins to consider taking, based on your answers; which cover your diet, overall health concerns, and lifestyle. Also, they now offer powders and quick sticks for your lifestyle.
The best thing, they ship right to your door!
I started on a B Complex and Astaxanthin, and I will be starting my protein shipment next month!

Drink More Water
Pretty obvious, right?
Drinking water is crucial to your lifestyle change. You should drink 1/2 an oz for every pound of body weight a day.
- It helps keep you hydrated
- drinking water with a meal will keep you fuller, longer.
- It’s a natural way to flush toxins from your body
- Helps prevent cramps, and muscle sprains.
I mean, the list is endless! Start switching out sugary drinks (like soda and juice) for water at one meal. Then, slowly increase it to all meals throughout the week.

Don’t Drink Your Calories
Hey, don’t get me wrong, I love a good Margarita. And lately, wine. There is nothing wrong with having an adult beverage now and again!
But, keep it in moderation. The average margarita has 400 calories.
400. Calories.
That’s a lot!
Drink low-calorie adult drinks, like wine and some light beers, but do it in moderation! You don’t want to work hard to lose weight and change your lifestyle, only to drink all your calories on a Friday or Saturday night!
Be Positive
Changes will happen. You’ll see quite a few in the very beginning, but you’ll FEEL them first. Some at a point, physical changes may slow down or stop.
Don’t get discouraged.
Stay positive. You are taking steps to an overall healthy life, not a quick fix. Things may be slow. You may have set back. But you know what?
That’s OKAY.
It’s okay to fail or “fall off” the wagon sometimes. It happens. The important thing is that again, you remain positive, and keep going. A positive mindset will change your WHOLE experience.

That many calories in a margarita is a crime! Thanks for the tips!
Isn’t it? *cries*
that being said! there are some low calorie ones out there.
I enjoyed this post and it affirmed that I’m on the right path. I try to drink water throughout the day and avoid sugary drinks. I also exercise every day and try to eat healthy.
Sometimes, even making other small changes; like an added walk, feels amazing.
That’s awesome! Keep it up!
These are great tips! I try to spend time being more mindful of my time and what I’m spending my energy on too. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! 🙂
Yes, being mindful of your time is a great, tip.
Great tips! The smaller things like going for more walks and generally getting out more are so easy when you make it a part of your routine. It’s so easy to drink your calories and not realise how many!! x

It really is! There was one night I had a few drinks and then did the math and was FLOORED. It helps that I am slowly turning into a wine person, way less calories.
We’ve started the simplistic going for walks, since my hip replacement it’s actually enjoyable and doable. It’s my daily physio as well as mentally helping.
Walks are great! I’m glad they’re enjoyable for you with your hip. They really help condition my knee before i start training for races.
I drink LOADS of water every day so I’ve got that one covered and I don’t drink alcohol either. It’s hard to just “be positive” when there’s stuff going on or mental health issues getting in the way. It’s important we try but if we can’t, then there’s always help available.
That’s true. But it’s also important to work to be positive. You can’t use negativity in your life as a crutch. As for health stuff, that’s true. My anxiety keeps me from doing a lot, but I try to refocus on the positive, and change my routine, instead of admitting defeat.
I basically follow the 8 laws of health so I’m always drinking water, out in the sun and fresh air, walking at a fast pace as exercise, having temperance (abstaining from the bad, and, the good, in moderation), being vegan but with delicious recipes has helped a lot (might share some in my blog), try to sleep my 8 hours (keyword try) and most importantly, trust in God 😊 this last one has helped immensely with every aspect of my life.
You should share some on your blog! That’s a great idea 🙂
