BOOKS AND CRAFTS

Welcome to my first Books & Crafts! Books & Crafts is a craft circle composed of book bloggers, a sporadic meme where we share our other creative pursuits aside from reading and blogging. Everyone is welcome to join, just add your tag/label links below and you’re good to go!

I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to post about my first post – but I thought I would start with something basic, and introduce you to my shop – and my creations!

A little History

I have been doing crafts for… as long as I can remember. I use to alternate between scrap booking, crocheting, candle making and beading. Beading stuck, simply because I was tired of getting paper cuts & burns (I’m accident prone) and well, I wasn’t very creative with making different things crocheting. It was basically, blankets.

I’ve been making my own jewelry regularly for about 2 years now. From earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc. I started making book marks over the Summer. These are called BOOK THONGS. (I wish I were creative enough to come up with that name) I will also be making bookish themed jewelry starting this month! My inventory is small, but I do custom orders!

Honestly, one of my biggest fears is that someone will buy my stuff – and something breaks. Not that it’s made cheap or anything. So far, no one has reported anything breaking so I can breathe a little easier.

Below are some things I have made – either for other people or myself. Also, you can find links below to my store to order a book mark! Once I have enough inventory of the bookish themed jewelry, I will add those as well.

I hope you have a great time visiting the other blogs in the craft circle, and find something you LOVE!

I tried jewelry making in high school, and never could make anything pretty that I actually liked enough to keep. Your bookmarks and jewelry are lovely though!

I pretty much only do two crafty things anymore: crochet and painting ceramics. They’re both lots of fun, and I can pick them up and stop at any point, which is a total win since I’m easily distracted!

They are beautiful! I love the keychain in particular because it looks like a charm bracelet.

I just signed up my actual blog- it looked like people were doing that. I just started sharing crafts I make at the library and I want to keep doing that every week or so (as long as I attend events and make things). I’d like to make things on my own time too, but we’ll see!

Love your bookmarks. Off to check out your etsy shop!

I realized I never replied to your questions about your bookmarks – I couldn’t really answer them because I gave your bookmark to my secret sister. I know it was adorable and I loved it, but I can’t say how it held up or how easy it was to use. She hasn’t mentioned anything about it breaking, though! 🙂
