Favorite Books I Rarely Talk About

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

When you think of your favorite books, it’s pretty typical that you talk about them all the time and scream from the rooftops what EVERYONE should be reading it.

Yet for me, I have so many favorite books I rarely talk about. It could be because I have such a hard time recommending books to others, which, is ironic for a previously book blogger, I know.

And, there are some books that would hurt if the reader didn’t love it as much as I did. Which, has happened. And totally OKAY.

I saw this prompt for today’s topic as a way to bring some of those books to light, and hopefully, some of you will pick them up and love them, too!

Here is my list of my Favorite Books I Rarely Talk About.

Favorite Books I Rarely Talk About

Favorite Books I Rarely Talk About

Darkhouse (Experiment in Terror #1) by Karina Halle – Friends. This whole series is amazing and gave me nightmares for weeks. Darkhouse was one of the first books I read on my Kindle, and I devoured them.

The Opportunist (Love Me with Lies #1) by Tarryn Fisher – This whole series is full of WTFery. It’s full of characters you love to hate, and I often think about Olivia. Read my Review

All the Missing Girls – by Megan Miranda – What I loved most about All The Missing Girls is the format. It’s told backwards, day 15-1. It was FASCINATING! Read My Review

The Uninvited by Cat Winters – The Uninvited was one of my favorites reads of 2015. I wasn’t able to pick up another book for days after finishing; it stuck with me that much. Highly recommend this one. Read My Review

Phoenix Unbound (Fallen Empire #1) by Grace Draven – This book gave me all the Spartan vibes. It’s dark, which is how I like my fantasy, yet beautiful. Read my Review.

The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones – I’m not often a mood reader, but this would have been the perfect book for me to read in the Fall. It’s eerie, spooky and kinda sad! I loved the story so much.

Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young – ANother book that left me with a day’s worth hangover. Brutal world and a badass heroine. It’s sex-positive too, which I loved.

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments #1) by Cassandra Clare – I consider myself a silent fan because my experience with this fan base has not been a good one, and quite frankly, I do not want to be associated with them! Still, I was obsessed with these books back in the day! I have many different versions, merch, clothing, the whole nine yards.

If I Stay (If I Stay #1)  by Gayle Forman – I read If I Stay before I started blogging, it was a random pick up at my library and I still think about this book, all these years later. It’s just perfect.

Life Interrupted by Kristen Kehoe – If my life was a book, Life Interrupted would be it. It’s about a teen mom, trying to finish school, raise her child, and resonated with the main characters so much.

I seriously loved City of Bones and the rest of The Mortal Instruments series when I read them years ago. I never continued on with the other series, but I really loved those original six books. If I Stay was so, so good. Broke my heart, but I loved it.

Same! I read the 6, and TID, finishing there. Idk. I just loved where it ended and didn’t have the desire to read them. I own some of them because they’re pretty!

Broke my heart, too. Same with IF I FALL. I read them back to back and was destroyed

I love megan miranda! her books always hook me. I also really liked the TMI series when I read it back in the day. It kept me totally engrossed, although I actually never finished the whole series.

    Happy TTT!

I only read the first original 6, and then TID. Nothing since. The world she created is so fascinating to me.

Agree about Megan Miranda! She is such a talent.

The Opportunist! I loved that book. I love her writing. My favorite is bad mommy, but this series is a close second.
