Convince Me to Read… Round 2 | Fantasy Edition

FacebookTweetPinEmailShares0

Convince Me to Read is a new THING in which I turn to readers to convince me to read their favorite hyped book. Since you know, Hype scares me. Bring out the big guns readers, and CONVINCE ME.

My first Convince Me To Read went well! After 14 comments and 81 votes on twitter, Illuminae won. You can see my thoughts on Illuminae by checking out this post. I had so much fun reading everyone’s comments and tweets! There was so much passion for the books, it was hard to choose!

For a refresher – Here’s how it works

I give you 3-5 books that have had major hype and/or a lot of love over let’s say, the past 6 months – 1 year or so. You, pour your heart out and convince me why I NEED TO READ IT. Imagine I’m not a book-worm, (*snorts*) and I don’t read that much; you’re making it your personal goal to try to convince me that THIS IS THE BOOK I NEED IN MY LIFE.

Today.

Right now.

Put everything you got into it. You are the sole ambassador. This is the championship and your (favorite) book needs YOU.

So, I went with a Fantasy theme this time. This was actually A LOT harder to narrow down.. Last time, there wasn’t really a theme involved; but there was kind of Fantasy/Science Fiction vibe going on.

Without further ado… z’BOOKS!

It’s your time to shine… and GO!

*Comments are open until March 4th. I will create a poll on twitter on February 26th. Numbers are a factor (not the sole decider, but they DO play a role) so be sure to spread the word, too! Once the poll on twitter is live, I will embed it here as well.

Don’t see your book! Don’t stress! Convince to me to read YOUR favorite. Just make sure to leave the title and author. I would hate to get them mixed up!

My favourite out of those (because, really, it’s the only one I’ve read of them) is Ember in the Ashes. SO GOOD! It’s full of mystery, mischief, espionage, action…I love it and you will too, I’m sure of it. Laia is a wonderful character, and her relationship with Elias is heartbreaking. I implore you to read this!

I’ve read three of the four. Ember was good. The romance is very forbidden, which I like, and the danger that the MC is in feels very real. Truthwitch was good, although not as good as some hyped it to be. However, I think the series is going to get realllly good in the next few books, so you’ll want to read it eventually.

I haven’t read any of these either, but the one that I’m definitely planning to read is TWatD. I’ll read Truthwitch too (since I own it as well), but TWatD is my priority.

Ok so I just finished reading The Wrath and the Dawn (it’s the only one I’ve read of your selections) and I absolutely loved it. This was my second time attempting to read it and I am so glad that I picked it up again. I’m going to be honest, it’s a bit slow in the beginning but it picks up toward the middle. There’s a little bit of everything -mystery, action, friendship, scandal, and romance. The romance is so swoony and precious, I can’t stop thinking about it. I loved it so much that I’m going to purchase a copy for myself (I borrowed it from the library).

I do want to read the other books on your list, as well. Can’t wait to see what you pick!

Since I haven’t read any of these yet either I’ll vote by picking the one of these I would reach for first since I want to read all of them as well. The Wrath and the Dawn! Good luck with your pick hopefully everyone does good by you! 🙂

Wow, it’s actually pretty hard but… Not the Sin Eater’s Daughter! I DNF’ed that one, haha! But maybe you’ll like it, who knows? The three other books are amazing so choose one of those! But I’ll try to convince you to read Truthwitch 😉
The magic system is based off elemental magic, but there is more than the usual four elements, like there is the Void, pretty mysterious, right? This book focuses a lot upo friendship between the two main characters, it was quite refreshing to see how important it was here, considering most of the time, the romance is the most important relationship, but it’s not the case here! There is still romance within this book, definitely slow burn. There is one steamy scene so your feelings will get all over the place though. This book was quite a ride, full of twists and turns. I hope you’ll choose this one, but TWATD and AEITA are great picks too 😉
