10 Books I Read Because of Bloggers

Books I Read Because of Bloggers

Books I Read Because of Bloggers is part of Top Ten Tuesday, which is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

From a blogger’s perspective, I think we all want to know our content is being read, and that we are helping others in some way. Be it a review, advice post, or How To’s/DIY.

As a previous book blogger, this was my biggest fear: that no one would read what I am recommending. Because this was MY fear, it may be many others as well.

Why not recognize those who influenced ME?

Below, check out my list of 10 Books I Read Because of Bloggers, and WHY.

Books I Read Because of Bloggers

10 Books I Read Because of Bloggers

The Deep End of the Sea by Heather Lyons – My good friend Jessica, who use to blog @ Lovin Los Libros, is a huge fan of all of Heather’s books! I finally caved a bought this one and really love it.

The Deal (Off-Campus #1) by Elle Kennedy – Until recently, I was part of a DM group of my closest girls, and they all pretty much read and loved this so I finally caved. I didn’t love it as they did, but I enjoyed it.

One Day in December by Josie Silver – Another friend Jess, who blogs @ Gone With the Words, read this a few days before I did and her love for this book is what made me bump it up on my TBR and dive in. I’m so glad I did because I loved it so much.

Hate to Want You (Forbidden Hearts #1) by Alisha Ra – I would say 95% of my romance recs come from Nick (blogs @ The Infinite Limits of Love)! She is my GO-TO for all things romance. I am so happy she told me to read this book because the series is in my top favs!

Polaris Rising (Consortium) Rebellion #1) by Jessie Mihalik – Another rec from Nick! I think I had asked the general twitter-verse about this one, and she slid on in and told me to get it ASAP. Sadly, I didn’t read it asap, since I just read it last month, but I loved it all the same.

Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff – Basically every blogger out there convinced me to read this. It was part of an OLD feature I did on my blog, that had readers choose a hyped book for me to read that I was scared to. Good fun that was!

Also, I am in the last book of this series. 😉

The Queen of Bright and Shiny Things by Ann Aguirre – When this book was first announced, I wanted to read it. But after reading the review by Jen, I knew I NEEDED it.

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (Creekwood #1) by Becky Albertalli – Another book I was scared of due to hype, I put off reading it for MONTHS. Then, I participated in a book exchange where we drew names, and everyone sent their favorite book to the person they drew. Simon was the book I got from Gail. I loved it!

Call It What You Want by Brigid Kemmerer & I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios – These were both recommend to me by my good friend and stylist! – Andi (Andi’s ABCs). I’ll Meet You There has military elements, which I usually stay away from but she persisted! Verdict: Loved them both.

I’ve seen several bloggers use this theme today and i love it! There’s nothing better than matching a book with an appreciate reader. I need to be better about noting who recommends what book to me so i can thank them. Thanks for inspiring me to be better about this.

    Happy TTT!

It was the first idea that popped into my mind when I say the prompt so I went with it. 🙂
Are you on Goodreads? I use a shelf specifically for books that are recommended to me. I do forget sometimes who did, but at least I have a starting point!

I don’t often read YA but both Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda and I’ll Meet You There were big hits for me. I’ll Meet You There, in particular, made a real impact.

I know what you mean, I was nervous about publishing my first blog post because I wasn’t sure if anyone would read it. Bloggers really do recommend incredible items to use. I’ve purchased a couple books based on reviews I read in the community. This collection looks quite interesting, I’ll have to check it out!
