Beauty Products Worth Obsessing Over – From a Non-Beauty Expert

FacebookTweetPinEmailShares28

One thing to know about me – I am not an expert when it comes to beauty products. Quite honestly, I may be one of the last people you should ask when it comes to trends, and the best make up products out there.

I don’t wear makeup.

Wrinkle cream? Don’t use it. Okay, that’s a lie. I haven’t found a good one TO use!

I don’t wear makeup. There are reasons, but one is that I never learned how to apply it.

Hair Treatments? NOPE.

But.

I like what I like. I use what I want, and when I find something I am IN LOVE with, I share it. So today, I’m sharing some of my favorites that are worth obsessing over.

Beauty Products Worth Obsessing Over

  • Dove Nourishing Rituals Shampoo & Conditioner

At some point, I will be making my shampoo, but in the meantime, I’ve switched to this sweet smelling duo. I use the shampoo every day, and the conditioner every 1-2 days. It does add some volume, but not a lot, and doesn’t leave my hair stringy, greasy OR weighed down.

  • Not Your Mothers Plump for Joy Dry Shampoo

I have fine hair, and finding a dry shampoo has been difficult for me. Some, leave my hair a tangled mess. Others, don’t help with the natural oils my scamp produces, so it ends up looking even MORE greasy. Others, smell disgusting!

Not Your Mother’s is the one dry shampoo that has more than one fantastic scent, doesn’t tangle my hair and works. Ironically, I discovered this through an influencer program, Influenster.

  • 12 Benefits™ Instant Healthy Hair Treatment

I use this a couple of times a week before blowdrying – and love what it’s done to my hair!

My hair is less brittle, shiny, and overall feels and looks healthier.

  • Feel Renewed Facial Cleanser – Pumpkin Walnut

Feel fascial Cleanser is new to me that I received in one of my Ipsy glam bags. I’m always hesitant to try new cleansers because:

  1. Money.
  2. I’m never patient enough to give them enough time to work.
  3. Being consistent with a nightly or morning routine has been more difficult than I’d like to admit.

However, a little goes a long way with this! I love how it exfoliates as well as cleanses, and it isn’t too harsh on my skin. It’s helping to clear up some of my blemishes. The scent is fantastic!

Whipped Body Butter

You should have seen this coming!

I’m a huge DIY beauty advocate (hence the transition to all natural shampoo soon!), and I’ve perfected my Whipped Body Butter. It’s a great blend of both Shea and Cocoa butter, with Fractionated Coconut Oil. You’ll smell good enough to eat!

I will be trying to use it with other oils, like Sweet Almond or Sunflower.

Vaseline Rosy Lip-balm and my mum’s favourite, Oil of Olay, are my beauty standbys. I’ve also been using Body Verde ‘Pore Tight’ to try and disguise the hideous open pores on my nose, but it only really works for a little while. Do you or any of your readers have any tips about makeup for open pores?

Oh Yes, I like Oil of Olay too! I haven’t used it in awhile, and probably should if I were being honest.

And no I don’t! I can do some research though

Yes, please! That would be amazing, if you get the chance 😊

I use a lot of Lush beauty products because they are cruelty free! However, I LOVE the Caviar shampoo and conditioner for colour treated hair. My hair is so soft and shiny and I get SO many compliments on it now! Thanks for sharing!

I will have to check out Lush! And the shampoo! My hair is so fine, it’s hard to find good shampoos for it
