I received this book for free from The Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

This is the perfect example of a book title that fits the content. This book is TWISTED. After reading Torn, (review here) and that cliff hanger ending, I was eagerly anticipating getting my hands on this. I actually bumped it up on my TBR list. However, I just didn’t like this one as much. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it plenty– just not as much as Torn.

Twisted starts up right where Torn left off. Chloe’s mother at her door step. The news and proposition she brings, sets off a chain of events that is chalk full of drama. Drugs, lies, jealous exes. Poor Chloe could not catch a break.

While I didn’t agree with a lot of decisions that Chloe had made in Torn, she is one of my favorite MC. Mainly because well, she makes mistakes. Not everyone, nor is every relationship, sunshine and rainbows. People make mistakes that they whole heatedly regret and Robinson does a great job with creating such real characters. HOWEVER! Here though, I wanted to shake her silly. I understand her… hesitations to let people in, but to all out hide things from those you love is incredibly irritating. She did this a lot, with pretty much everyone. I admired her strength before, but this time around.. No. She seemed WAY too dependent and clingy to Drake. She was naive and stupid and lost that spark that made me like her. What frustrates me the most is that her strength is THERE. She just crumbles instead.

Lets just back up a minute. If you were raised by an alcoholic and drug user, would you NOT see the signs? And whether she would admit it or not– then she was using Jordan. Because Drake wasn’t there for her. Well yeah, you idiot– you didn’t call him because you didn’t want to bother him. Not to mention— How can you be that dense? I would have picked up what was going on with Kadi, almost right away! UGH. OK, moving on.

If I had it my way, Chloe would have given the middle finger to both Drake and Lucas, but of the two I was glad that is who she ended up with. While he had this bad boy image and womanizer, he was sweet too and for some reason, I liked him more than Lucas. How people change. For starters, he was constantly throwing Chloe’s past in her face, which was wrong and pissed me off like no other. He was always up her ass, jealous and pretty much over reacted about everything. This is NOT a healthy attachment to have, people. The communication between the two of them was shit. Drake did the same thing Chloe had done– hide things. And once he made that first jump into self-destruction, it got worse. And Worse.. and well, worse.

I knew that Chloe’s mother was a bad person from what we gather from Chloe- but this woman is awful. I mean, awful. Seriously. She got what she deserved and I just about threw a damn party when Chloe got that phone call.

I was really disappointed with Chloe at the ending. I was applauding her choice when it came to Drake because she FINALLY woke up and realized things were NOT OK– just to take him back. I mean, really? Really!? You flippin dumb ass. GAH!

Overall- Intense, emotional and full of non stop drama. I liked it– just not as much as Torn.

I think she did grow, is certain aspects but… I don’t know. She was pretty naive and there were times I was waiting for that strength she has and well, no. She treated Jordan pretty close to how she treated Logan.

And wait.. there’s another book?! gahhhhhhhhh

Our guest reviewer at Nawanda Files didn’t enjoy this one as much as Torn either, but she did like it like you did. I’m still debating whether or not I want to read this series. I love that you wanted her to give the middle finger to both boys lol! Not sure if I would like the love-triangle-ness that goes on in this series, but it does sound fantastic 😀

Twisted was hard to get through at times too. So, go in with caution! HA I like love triangles so it didn’t bother me in the slightest. Except for WHY it became a triangle.

      Thanks for stoppin by!

I don’t read NA that often because it seems like the plot always repeats itself but this sounds pretty good. All the reviews I read always mention the mother LOL. Great review!

Yeah, I am in a NA funk because they ARE the same, in my opinion. This one is different. Despite my rant, I did enjoy it but not as much as Twisted
