Welcome to another Random Rants and Ramblings. For today’s Rantish Ramble topic, I am discussing Changes.
In my “My year in a nutshell” post, I mentioned that I will be making some changes to Lilybloombooks (yes, again.) Just so you know, some are working while others aren’t has I hoped. But I digress. Today, as i was browsing around new themes, I really got to thinking, (how painful that may be at times) about how making changes may come off as inconsistency and how people may not LIKE the changes.
Then I started doing some digging into ALL the changes I have made.
I have used 5 different themes; changing their colors COUNTLESS times.
I have tried out at least 4 different “buttons” and/or “Headers”, all to which I love at first, then take down because really, they aren’t that good, bahaha
I have participated in 4 Memes, which now I only technically do WoW, and that’s sparse. (But I will be linking my Monthly Wraps up to Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer)
I changed my Pick if For Me Freebie reads from Weekly to Monthly.
I started hosting blog hops, which I am not even sure that will work out.
I have TRIED countless other fun, different things but nothing ever really seems to take off.
Point is, holy batman on changes, y’all.
You know what’s really ironic, I loathe change. I am one of those that gets set in their ways and doesn’t budge for anything. BUT. I think since I am SO USE to stuff changing, that when things AREN’T changing, I go out of my way to change it. Almost like I’m bored. Weird as that sounds. It makes me nervous though, because I feel like I will go through all this time and dedication to make the changes, but I will end up hating it. You readers will end up hating it. Or the new things I bring to the table will fail, miserably. (Ok, that’s a different topic but still) The last thing I want to be is inconsistent, or have someone no longer read what I write because my blog is ugly or they feel like I am inconsistent.
For me, change is good. As I mentioned, I don’t like change but change things often, and I always feel better when I do, ( I know that doesn’t make a lick of freaking sense LOL) As for the blogs I follow, I do like blogs that are consistent with content but it’s fun when designs get changed and features get added. You see other sides to their personality, ya know? For instance, my theme says to ME that I am loud, dramatic, and fun. The theme I am getting is very elegant and shows that softer side. Make sense?
So this brings me to my questions. Yes, there is more than one.
How do you feel about change? On the blogs you follow, do you like to see blogs that are more consistent in their themes, colors and such, or do you like to see the changes they bring? What about new features?
What major changes have you made?
