Favorite Books

Similar to TTT post a few weeks ago, this post will showcase ALL favorites, not just 2016 releases

Hello!!

Last year on my other blog, I did a similar post; showcasing my favorite romance books read. It was so fun to get feedback and recommendations on other readers favorites so I thought WHY NOT. It’s actually been a good year for good books and I’m excited to show some of my favorites!

*Note, I tried not to be redundant with my TTT post a few weeks ago, but alas!

  • STRONG SIGNAL is my favorite m/m romance to date. AND, it has a military hero – we all know I don’t mess well with those!
  • LAST KISS was dark, thrilling and sexy af. Seriously, if you love dark books then you MUST read it!
  • YOU had my mind in a WTAF state for daaaaaaaaaays.
  • SALT TO THE SEA – *Ugly crying
  • I think it’s safe to say that PEARL has been my most talked about book this year. I’m surprised it doesn’t have more buzz and love because it really is a gem.
  • ILLUMINAE was my first Convince Me to Read winner and I was really surprised by how much I loved it since I didn’t think I would. It’s dark, which is a huge plus.
  • PASSENGER has Nicholas, so. Nuff said.
  • SIMON! This was a gift from Gail for the Are You Feeling Lucky book exchange and I’m SO HAPPY she sent it! It’s just brilliant!
  • THE GIRL FROM THE SAVOY was such a beautiful story about chasing your dreams, loss and love.
  • Sarah Fine is on my TOP 5 authors and THE IMPOSTOR QUEEN was nothing short of Amazing

  • ALL BROKE DOWN was so much fun! I adore Silas!
  • EXTRAORDINARY was such a heartfelt middle grade. It deals with some heavy issues but it’s well done.
  • I had a few issues with AFTER I DO but overall, this book makes you think and sets up a great discussion with family, friends, and other bookish peeps!
  • MELANCHOLY is the sequel to FURY and this series is a MUST READ. It’s dark but sexy too!
  • If you want a quick, fun summer read then read SUMMER OF SUPERNOVAS
  • I mean, what can I say about THE RAVEN KING other than PERFECTION?

Salt to the Sea! I love that book so much. I have Strong Signal on my reader. I just need to make some time to get to it. I’ve heard such good things.
Did you see that The Impostor Queen is getting a 3rd book? I don’t know how I feel about that overall. Because it was intended to be a duo and got extended to a trilogy. But no doubt it will be excellent though since Sarah is good at the writing thing. I seriously need to get to the Maggie Stiefvater series too.

I really need to hurry up and read Salt to the Sea! It is one that I think I need to be in the right mood for though, considering the heavier content. I also have been meaning to read The Impostor Queen! Ugh. So many books… so little time… so little motivation. HAH. I’m so glad you enjoyed Illuminae too! I’m looking forward to getting my hands on Gemina!

I tried to enjoy Pearl but really couldn’t get into it :/ I finished the book though and I love the realism of it but there was something that didn’t let me enjoy it. I’m so glad you enjoyed After I Do! I loved it so much! Of course, I didn’t like that year-long separation and that was my major issue but everything else was great. It taught me a lot about myself and my relationship.

Salt to the Sea and Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda are both really high on my TBR lists. I loved Illuminae so much. I’m a huge fan of the Raven Cycle, but I have to say The Raven King just did not do it for me. I was so bummed. :/

Really?! I actually didn’t *love* it the first time around but after a reread I feel in love. It’s not for everyone though!

And yes, YOU was so good!

  5. Zoey

Ah yes, Illuminae… that book is just… so amazing. Even the word amazing is not enough to describe it.
I’m beyond looking forward to Gemina and also Nevernight by Jay Kristoff. You too? (:
Haven’t read most of the books you mentioned but I heard of them ^^
